Questions About ILCI-21?

ILCI-21: Isozaki Leadership & Culture Index is a 21-question reflection and development assessment. It has two modes: Leadership, a private individual reflection, and Culture, an organization or team assessment. Both modes use the Self, Structure, and Systems framework; Leadership focuses on the individual, while Culture focuses on an organization or team.

Most participants finish in 10–15 minutes. There are 21 items rated on a 7-point scale (Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree). Your progress is saved automatically as you go, so you can pause and resume without losing your answers.

The Leadership Assessment is a personal self-assessment. You rate yourself against each statement. Results are private and visible only to you and platform administrators. The Culture Assessment is answered in the context of a specific organization or team; statements reference your organization's reality rather than your individual experience. Results can be shared with team leaders and org admins for collective insight.

No. ILCI-21 is a leadership development and organizational learning tool, not a clinical or diagnostic instrument. It is not intended for clinical diagnosis, employment selection, psychological treatment, or any high-stakes personnel decision.

Yes. The platform allows you to complete the assessment multiple times. Retaking it after implementing changes or development activities is a great way to track growth over time. Each submission is stored separately so you can compare results across assessments.

Your overall score is the average of all 21 item ratings on a 1–7 scale. Scores are grouped into five interpretation bands: Flourishing, Growing, Emerging, Withering, and Uprooted. You also receive separate domain scores for Self (Items 1–8), Structure (Items 9–15), and Systems (Items 16–21), which highlight relative strengths and possible areas to explore.

Results are calculated and displayed after you submit the assessment. You can review your results and download the PDF report from the My Results page.

The PDF report includes your composite score, interpretation band, domain and subdomain scores, a lifecycle stage description, and a set of recommended next steps tailored to your results. Culture Assessment reports include team-level patterns and area-specific scores.

Leadership Assessment results are visible to you and authorized administrators where configured. Culture Assessment results are available to organization administrators and team leaders for collective insight. Individual responses are not shared publicly.

Yes. An account is required to take the assessment and access your results. You can sign in with Google or create an account with your email and password. Your account links your assessments, keeps your progress saved, and lets you download reports at any time.

Yes. You may request deletion of your account and associated assessment data at any time by contacting us at curtis@isozakicoaching.com. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on data retention and deletion.

Organizations gain access through a conversation with Isozaki Coaching. Once access is set up, administrators can invite participants and team leaders from the platform. Schedule a consultation to discuss your goals and the right starting point.
